ORGANIC VEGETABLES are grown by farmers who never use any herbicides or fumigants, synthetic pesticides or fungicides. Strict standards control the safety of organic compost, which is not regulated in conventional farming.

Certified Organic food in China is grown according to standards set by the Organic Food Development Center (OFDC) which conforms to International Federation of Organic Agriculture (IFOAM) regulations.

Before a product can be labeled ˇ°organicˇ±, there is a mandatory three year transitional stage of 100% organic agricultural practices. Maintaining this certification requires regular OFDC inspections of farm fields and processing facilities, detailed record keeping, and periodic testing of soil and water to ensure that growers and handlers are meeting the set standards.
